Brave Galaxy is set in a world loosely based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero. It is a PG-13 or so rated space fantasy RP, and uses a combination of character statistics, which can be acquired via roleplaying and events, and creative freedom to help direct players’ characters. While there is a main storyline, which can be found in the events section, characters are free to interact with others and their environment however they see fit.
Explore the galaxy. Overcome the obstacles in your path. Shape the future of humanity.
[attr="class","SScontent2temp1"] Appearance[break][break] Somatic: Jimmy's surprisingly clean and tidy in his appearance, perhaps even more striking than his towering height of 185cm, or the bulging muscles concealed by the cut of his suit. Underneath the gold chains and bespoke double-breasted suit and the obscene amount of cologne lie a litany of elaborate tattoos covering his entire body, detailed in the style of a coat. Each and every tattoo tells a story, a tapestry that chronicles Jimmy's life with his crime family. Other than this, there's a surprising lack of scars on his body or his face, with only clear chafe marks on his knuckles being the only hint at his lifestyle. With a slightly angular expression, he's not a bad-looker by any means, but it'd be a disservice to call him handsome.[break] Garments: Jimmy typically dresses in the quintessential uniform of a two-bit organized crime syndicate with enough clout to possess some thin veneer of sophistication. A double-breasted pin-striped suit does he typically wear with alligator-skin loafers, with a shirt––more often than not unbuttoned-–underneath. The Sakurai Family typically adheres to the old-fashioned values of suit-clad men and women patrolling the streets wherever protection rackets and profits are to be made, and while Jimmy is equally likely to opt for a tracksuit or a parka and jeans instead, the suit offers a thin semblance of professionalism that masks his thug-like duties.[break][break]
Personality[break]
Jimmy isn't the kind of person who wears his heart on his sleeve. It's often difficult to determine what the hell is the guy's detail but from the little anyone can gleam from him is that he's a hard businessman. He is a little behind on the times when it comes to more modern technological marvels but he makes up for it with a surprising willingness to learn. The Sakurai Family might be a little more conservative than the other crime syndicates rolling on the streets of Lower Eneos, but among them Jimmy has a reputation as the traditional, an honor-bound dreamer perhaps bordering on the ritualistic. And yet, the man possesses a ruthless streak a mile wide; Family First, and Let the Whole World Burn is his personal creed. When the fists come flying, Jimmy acts decisively and without compassion, more beast than man. And when he has his mind set on something, his will is unshakeable.[break][break]

[attr="class","SScontent2temp1"] Appearance[break][break] Somatic: In terms of physical appearance, Albert's not much to look at and appears a little messier than permissible by all accounts. A mop of messy black tresses sits upon his head, and while he does possess an angular face that would probably seem more pleasing to the eyes, there's little else. Underneath his garments lies more fat than muscle, and while the man has on occasion attempted to keep in shape, there's only so much that can be gleaned from his efforts. For the most part, the man does keep in shape, and some of stated that he does have the broad shoulders of an infantryman, with none of the demeanor of one. Indeed, he strides from place to place with calm and collected familiarity, but without the martial strut of a soldier. Of particular note though are Albert's eyes, a deep, dark brown. Best described as perpetually sleepy, they lend the impression of a bored individual, whereas the occasionally mischievous smirk upon his visage makes this man appear more a joker than anything else. And to an extent, he is. [break][break] Garments: Albert's garments are well-put together, and he has a strict, simple wardrobe that he adheres to for most occasions at a moments' notice. Sometimes, it's t-shirts and a blazer, with a pair of jeans. Other times, it's a hoodie and a muted button down, with cargo pants and sandals, or a ribbed long-sleeve and cargo pants with steel-toed work boots. Generally, Albert favors earth tones in his off-duty garments; bright-colored clothing tends to be gaudy, and one can truly be striking by pure verbal impression alone. [break][break] When on duty however, Albert wears the typical garments of an ISC Officer, specifically one from the Encan-Sinian Commonwealth. Inspired by a mixture of both local and Pergrandian Union designs, his uniform comprises a Union-style padded black blouson and beret with the sigil of his homeworld alongside ISC Naval insignia, khaki cargo pants capable of holding all manner of goods, a dark grey field shirt, and ankle boots of synthetic leather and steel. This does he wear with the signature dark blue brassard of the ISC, attached to shoulder straps. When the situation necessitates it, Albert does veer toward a tendency toward heavier, Extra Vehicular Activity type body armor, but other than that the only thing he does keep on his person is a synthetic fabric belt with a holster for his handgun. [break][break] More often than not, Albert wears the garments of a typical office worker while on his forays when his presence does not need to be felt as strongly, with a button of the Commission pinned upon his lapel or breast pocket for any identification.[break][break]
Personality[break]
Most people expect soldiers to be stalwart individuals, knightly, chivalric upholders of all that is righteous and just. Albert is none of these, and bringing the topic up to his very face is a surefire way of making him laugh. Albert is an inquisitive individual, and specialized in intelligence during his tenure as an Encan-Sinian soldier; the training he received as a result has made him a very curious individual with an affinity––and hatred––of problem-solving. Behaving like a soldier just so happens to be one of those problems that he hasn't solved yet. Ultimately, Albert prefers to be recognized as the individual that he is more than just a cog in the machine, and some may describe him as a man who marches to the beat of his own drum, problematic but a go-getter when the chips are down. [break][break] Sometimes he's egotistical. Other times he's lazy and unmotivated. Other times, he attempts to take charge, and follow the objective not precisely to the letter, but as well as the situation allows and stipulates. He lies, cheats, and will leave others behind in order to better his own situation, but simultaneously––almost paradoxically––nowhere could he be more concerned about people whom he closely works with, be it a true friend or an asset too useful to simply discard. And yet, for all that he does care about the few whom he feels close with, it is the relationships with these very people that Albert finds increasingly strained, something that he secretly regrets. [break][break]
Abilities[break][break]
Skills:[break][break] Glean: As a graduate of ISC Strategic Studies with a bent in Intelligence, Albert has a keen eye for details. When the cards are down, no stone is too small to be overturned, and Albert happens to enjoy doing just that. [break][break] Gunslinger: Albert's admittedly not fond for combat; were it not for the analytical computer that he keeps on his person to facilitate his duties, he'd be practically useless in a protracted gunfight. Nevertheless, Albert knows the basic workings of a pistol, and when words can't settle the matter, he is more or less average.[break][break] Knife in the Dark: Living in the Encan-Sinian Commonwealth, Albert has had to live under the threat of the country's secret police for subversive thought and associations with individuals unbecoming of the official party line. Therefore, Albert tends to be mildly uncomfortable in urban places where there is low visibility, especially outside. [break][break]
History[break]
There are many people in this endless universe that are born with the wrong cards in their hands, the less fortunate decks dealt. Albert was lucky not to be one of them.[break][break] Born in 965 to a fairly well-off family, Albert spent the vast majority of his childhood aboard his father's interstellar starlifter, plying the star lines between the Commonwealth and the Union. The young Albert Leightham wanted for nothing, and while his family wasn't too well-off in the Encan-Sinian Commonwealth's economic climate, it was nevertheless a happy family. At the age of 17, Simon Leightham passed away under uncertain conditions, leaving his ship and shipping industry to be possessed by the government, and it was all that Albert could take to support both his own university tuitions and his mother, who while doing well for herself, still struggled to make ends meet. Ultimately, Albert could not collect enough funds to attend a civilian university to study his respective major––History, surprisingly. He thus enrolled himself within the Encan-Sinian Commonwealth military to further his education, with the end goal of making it to the Interplanetary Security Commission Officer Academy, where Albert would attempt––and fail––to enter its Historical Studies Department. Ostensibly, Albert's tuition fees were to be waived, provided he enter military service upon graduation. [break][break] Four years did he serve as a run of the mill soldier, an infantryman briefly trained in the use of arms and small unit tactics. Performance wise, Albert was far less adept in this than his peers, yet in theory and data analysis did he prove more competent. Those years were spent performing joint-exercises with the Union of Pergrandian Socialist Republics, detaining suspected Seveni refugees trickling in from the Boscan Großesreich, patrolling asteroids off the belt of Orion for smugglers and Federation vessels. Fate smiled upon Albert one day, and he was among the few selected among the Encan-Sinian Commonwealth's forces to be inducted into the ISC. [break][break] As he had hoped, Albert was eventually sent to the Interplanetary Security Commission Officer Academy in Iris, albeit in the Strategic Studies Department rather than his intended goal. It was there that Albert would end up making a name for himself as the individual loitering in the library, perusing tomes upon tomes of books dating back to the concept of international politics and its roots, anything that could satisfy his unending thirst for knowledge. There was a dichotomy however, between the man's habits outside of and during classes; not a valedictorian, nor a salutatorian, only managing to pass and obtain a commission by merely a hair's breadth. Nevertheless, he became an officer, a fact noted not just in the Commission's public records, but also back home with the Encan-Sinian Ministry of State Security. [break][break] Little exists of Albert's history during his tenure at the Academy outside of his academic performance, but it was during those erstwhile days that he met a woman once during a trip to the local conservatory. That chance encounter soon blossomed and withered, in a relationship that ended with differing visions of the future, a child, and no small amount of regret. And the rest, is history. [break]
