The ISC comprises security forces drawn from member states funded independently of both the Council and their budgets. The duties of this organization encompass a wide variety of operations pertaining to law, order, and military operations in regards to the planets, and cooperates closely with the existing military and police forces of those aforementioned entities. However, a fair amount of their duties are also subcontracted toward agencies and guilds based in the various planets. The benefits of the ISC essentially are as follows: access to information and resources that an agency or guild might not be privy too, alongside the numerical forces to perform as a cohesive military unit should the need arise for a Security Council Police Action. The ISC comprises two main branches, each with their own respective duties and obligations. They are as follows: ISC Navy: The space-based warfare branch of the Interplanetary Security Commission, and the spear of most operations involving peacekeeping operations. The larger and more well-funded of the branches, the ISC Navy is host to countless warships of various tonnages, various fast attack craft, and specialized landing units responsible for securing and holding ground in the initial opening stages of an operation. This do they conduct in concert with their land-based peers, and while their soldiers fight on the surfaces of planets, the ISC Navy provides the heavy firepower, from bombers to destroyers, all the while hampering any efforts off-world made by enemy aggressors. ISC Ground Forces: The land-based warfare branch of the Interplanetary Security Commission, often referred to as a sledgehammer or a shield depending on their use. The Navy gets the lions' share of the ISC budget (warships are expensive after all), but while this may be the case the ISC Ground Forces are a formidable army to be reckoned with, possessing the resources, manpower, and pluck to wage large-scale warfare on various planetary surfaces, be it offensive or defensive in nature. A diverse plethora of member-states contributing their troops offers a diverse amount of options to consider in battles and wars, from Großesreich artillery and Federation mechanized cavalry in fast-paced offensive combat to Union and Co-Prosperity Sphere infantry to impede opponents via more defensive, drawn-out conflicts. Enlistment • All prospective recruits must be at least 18 years of age. • To enlist, you must attend a single basic training thread and meet requisites to become a fully-fledged officer (give or take 15 SP Earned) • You cannot have Magic. Making a Character Making a character who is part of the ISC is fairly simple enough. Sworn members of the ISC may be of any race, gender, orientation, and nationality, but are comprised entirely out of people without a latent ability to harness magic or any equivalent thereof. ISC Officers will NEVER be able to utilize magic of their own, but may use those tied directly to their specific items. When making a character as an ISC Officer from the get-go, they typically start off as Cadets, and join the organization as Officers. [/PTab={background-color:#000}][PTab=The Ranks] Field Marshal/Fleet Admiral––Field Marshal/Fleet Admiral is the highest level flag officer commission rank in the ISC military. They are appointed as supreme commanders of the various ISC forces commands. Most of them have served as commanders of combined fleets and serve as the Interplanetary Security Commission Joint Operations Headquarters Chiefs. Typically, most fleet admirals and field marshals inevitably end up being promoted to Director-General. In ground units a naval Fleet Admiral is equal to a Field Marshal, who commands the entirety of the ISC Ground Forces. General/Admiral––General and Admiral are the senior level flag officer commission ranks in the ISC military. This is the senior theatre front commander level rank for ISC officers. They hold command responsibilities and are expected to command combined fleets and ground units. Most of them serve as expeditionary force commanders and as the chief of staff in the ISC fleet. In some cases the Fleet Admiral might appoint a Admiral to oversee a strategic sector of space, or the Field Marshal with a General to oversee the defense of multiple planets. (PC ranks) Colonel/Vice Admiral–As a mid-level flag officer commission for ISC forces, Vice Admirals and Generals are expected to command a fleet or an army, exercising full command authority on the ISC's numbered fleets and expeditionary units. Most of them serve as department heads in combined fleets and divisions, numbered unit commanders, and as department chiefs in the more bureaucratic departments of the Commission. Captain/Commodore–A crucial element in the higher echelons, an ISC Captain is often times responsible for entire detachments of troops, be it from helming a flagship or leading a great number of troops in a peacekeeping operation. ISC Captains typically command a brigade of Inspectors and Ensigns alongside their subordinate personnel, and utilize them accordingly, while also being able to lead combined arms units for greater threats such as small skirmishes or interplanetary disputes. Captains may helm any sort of capital ship and below, and may if provided lead a small flotilla of destroyers and below. Captains get access to specific munitions-grade equipment relative to their rank, and further discounts on purchasing of custom equipment. Inspector/Ensign––A high-ranking officer in the ISC, Inspectors and Ensigns are often highly regarded as being responsible for spearheading task forces and investigations, in addition to commandeering small unit teams and small ships if necessary. More often than not, these individuals often are cleared to work with a cadre of units under their command, and may have some privy knowledge to medium to sensitive information. Furthermore, such personnel are often also capable of utilizing vessels of the Destroyer displacement and below, and may alternatively command a small squadron of patrol vessels. Inspectors and Ensigns get access to specific munitions-grade equipment relative to their rank, in addition to discounts on the purchasing of custom equipment below the rank of Commander/Commodore. Associate Inspector/Warrant Officer––The equivalent of a military unit sub-leader, Associate Inspectors and Warrant Officers often head small teams of officers and may command a patrol or the crew of a small corvette if necessary in order to achieve their duties. Responsible for executing investigations and small-unit tactics where it is applicable, these individuals ultimately report to a senior rank such as an Inspector or Ensign, who are ultimately in charge of planning and spearheading the operations or operating larger vessels. Such Warrant Officers/Associate Inspectors get access to specific munitions-grade equipment relative to their rank, in addition to discounts on the purchasing of custom equipment below the rank of Captain. Trooper/Officer––Troopers and Officers are the backbone of the Commission; without them the entire organization would crumble. From mediating disputes, patrolling cities and stars, and providing necessary muscle and expertise in the event of security resolutions, these brave men and women are equal parts the face of the ISC and the great arm that enforces its laws, be they in space or on the ground. These ranks get access to specific munitions-grade equipment relative to their rank, in addition to discounts on the purchasing of custom equipment below the rank of Inspector/Ensign. Cadet––The freshest of faces in the Corps. If Officers are the bones of the Interplanetary Security Commission, then the Cadets are their lifeblood. These rookies spend months in training and as probationary officers before being made a full officer or crewman. During this period, Cadets may do whatever may edify their faculties be it in the Academy or with a senior officer to learn the skills and fortitude they'll rely on for the rest of their career. More often than not, these cadets are drawn from existing forces contributed by their respective nations, and as such have some semblance of experience in pseudo-military doctrine. Brave Galaxy is set in a world loosely based on Hiro Mashima’s Fairy Tail and Eden’s Zero. It is a PG-13 or so rated space fantasy RP, and uses a combination of character statistics, which can be acquired via roleplaying and events, and creative freedom to help direct players’ characters. While there is a main storyline, which can be found in the events section, characters are free to interact with others and their environment however they see fit.
